It has become a family happening when the Swedish farmers, at the beginning of May, release their cows out on pasture. The Swedish farmers association, Svenskt Sigill, are present at these events, informing people of how healthy pasture is for the cows. Anne-Li Karlsson illustrated their information material.

Frihet # 3

Both Annelie Carlström and Anne-Li Karlsson were commissioned to illustrate for the third issue of redesigned magazine Frihet. Carlström made a portrait of the exentric actor Kjell Bergqvist and Karlsson depicted the alliance between the Socialdemocrats and the Swedish Green Party, interpreted as a bunch of flowers.

For the third year, JCDecaux is arranging the advertising competition UTE, where Swedish advertising agencies are invited to create a Eurosize ad for a specific client, this year it is Triwa Watches. Anne-Li Karlsson was asked by Scholz & Friends to make the illustration to their contribution. The winner will be announced on the 11th of May.

On top of her every issue illustrations for the magazine Äventyrliga Familjer, Anne-Li Karlsson was commissioned to draw an adventurous family for a canvas bag handed out as a giveaway at Stockholm Wildlife Fair.

A lot of Woo creativity in the magazine Frihet's new costume. As the third creative from Woo Agentur, Anne-Li Karlsson was asked to illustrate the guest chronical by journalist Sarah Clyne Sundberg. It covers the difference between how American people, in comparison to Swedish and European people, think when it comes to racism and hostility towards foreign people.

In conjuction with the Swedish premier of the second film in the Twilight saga, New Moon, Metro Stockholm’s Weekend supplement ran a special on vampires. Anne-Li Karlsson illustrated the cover portrait of teenage heroes Bella and Edward.

On the front of the estate agent's prospects for the property company Hufvudstaden, you can now see Anne-Li Karlsson's illustrations of the buildings instead of the traditional photographs. Hufvudstaden was founded back in 1915 and are the owners of prime locations in Stockholm and Gothenburg such as Nordiska Kompaniet and Norrmalmstorg no.1.

Anne-Li Karlsson illustrated the covers of two of Svenskt Sigill’s handbooks. Svenskt Sigill is an association for farmers in Sweden. Produce sold in supermarkets from a Svenskt Sigill labelled farm guarantee the consumer a certain level of standard when it comes to growing of vegetables and rearing of cattle.

Anne-Li Karlsson has illustrated the chronicle ’Protokoll’ by Nicolas Espinoza och Johan Holmström in monthly magazine Diego since 2005. The chronicles have now been put together into a book, featuring Anne-Li’s illustrations. Every program includes a personal fashion chronicle visualized by an illustrator. Anne-Li Karlsson illustrated the radio profile Deniz Merdol's story about the bomber jacket that destroyed her night out as a hot girly girl.

The Noseflute

Anne-Li Karlsson has been commissioned to illustrate ten portraits of the composer and the dramaturgist behind Vadstena Akademien's upcoming opera "The Noseflute".
The illustrations portrait the two artists in action, developing the opera. Anne-Li will make one illustration each month until the première in Vadstena, July 2009.

Pictures from the opening of the exhibition "Retouche" at The Wall gallery in Tokyo.
The exibition is a collaborative project between photographer Frosty/Gustav Karlsson Frost and illustrator Anne-Li Karlsson, investigating the idea of a garment and the visual language of the body. With innovative body painting combined with suggestive photo they create updated illusions of clothing without a single thread.
